In August 1902 two investors, William Murphy and Lemuel W. Bowen, Leland sought to offer a company that was being liquidated. This company was founded in 1899 under the name Detroit Automobile Company produced a few cars and went bankrupt in 1900. In 1901 it was rebuilt and reorganized by his chief mechanic who renamed it with your own name, calling it the Henry Ford Company.
